◆Rotary encoders
Rotary encoders are essential electromechanical components. Rotary encoders are rotation angle sensors which can be used to monitor the position of rotating shafts. They measure not only positions and angles but also rotational speeds, lengths and directions. LTN encoders are used in industrial environments to measure distances, velocities or angles of rotation (e.g. for machine tools, textile and packaging machines, passenger lifts, turnstiles or escalators) as well as in handling and automation technology (e.g. on motor shafts for manual control of motor movements).

◆Resolvers
Resolvers are used in many applications for precise motor control. After optical rotary encoders, resolvers are the most commonly used type of displacement and angle sensor. They convert the angular position of a rotor to two voltages. The absolute position can be represented clearly in this way.

◆Slip rings
Slip ring systems can be found in many electrical machines. Slip rings allow electrical power or signals to be transmitted between stationary and rotating systems, or between two counter-rotating components, via a sliding contact (brush). Slip ring systems are versatile and the spectrum ranges from just a few mV or mA to 200 A and 1500 V.
